It breaks my heart but ...

I'm going to have to find new homes for my two neutered (but not declawed) tomcats. They're brothers and have been together in my home for six years now, since they were old enough to be adopted.

They're spoiled rotten, loving, indoor animals. Oh, and they weigh about 30 lbs. each.

I'm moving to Texas to take care of my parents, and I'm not going to be in a situation where I can have pets. But I don't want to just post a classified ad -- there are too many weird people out there, and I want to make sure that these guys get a GOOD home.

Any ideas where I should start searching, or anyone I should contact to start the process of finding a new home for my babies?

Try Calvert County Humane Society - I used to volunteer there, and I know they are very particular about who adopts, and if you can't adopt them out before you move, they have several volunteers who foster. I'm sure they will help you out. Call 410-257-4908

Oooh, good idea ;)

Oh my! You stole Pete's cat.

I wish you the best of luck. There are just some occasions where you have to rehome a pet. It is still kitten season and unfortunately there are many, many cats and kittens needing good homes. You should advertise them on the classifieds here, check with your vet, talk to all the local rescues, etc. A lot of the rescues rely on foster homes and many of them are full.

PM me. I foster dogs but lately have found myself with a few mature indoor cats. :howdy:

Oh they are darling....if I didn't already have three here I would take them in a heartbeat....good luck in finding them a new forever home.

What fat cows..they look familiar..what are their names? Do you take them to be groomed?

Yeah, I call them my little piggies ... Fuzzball is the one on the left (and the largest). Koosie (on the right) has lost some of his excess weight, but they're still larger-framed than the "average" cat.

Believe it or not, they eat the IAMS Weight Control formula, in the recommended amounts, and only get one can of wet food (shared) twice a week. They don't eat people food at all.

I don't have them groomed. I brush them regularly, and use those cat wet-wipes on them, but I'm not masochistic enough to try to bathe them!
