Democrats file 9 suits in Florida
One suit challenges a ruling by Mrs. Hood to throw out forms on which new voters had failed to check a box indicating whether they were U.S. citizens, and another argued that although only 17 percent of the voters in Broward County and 20 percent in Miami-Dade County were black, more than a third of the voter-registration forms that were determined to be incomplete and invalid in both counties involved black voters.
I'd say Mrs. Hood did the right thing. If you can't figure out how to check a box indicating whether you are a US citizen, I din't trust you to be able to complete a ballot correctly.

This is not difficult folks!

Not too talkative
While I was down in Florida recently, they were just starting to talk about this issue. It seems the majority of the registration forms they are talking about were collected when the democrats were running the get out and vote campaigns at local churches. They had local democrats helping the people fill out the forms. So the question is: did the democrats hire incompetent people to help fill out the forms, or did they intentionally let them fill the forms out incorrectly so they could have this issue?

The lightbulb just clicked on for me.

For weeks I've been like, "So what if they register all these people? Doesn't mean they're going to actually get out and vote." And all those newly registered voters probably won't, HOWEVER, someone else will go vote for them. They've got names of registered voters who they know damn well aren't going to show up at the polls. What's to stop them from going from precinct to precinct, voting as many times as they want under various names?

Seems pretty simple to me. In Florida you aren't registered unles you complete a registration application. For the application to be considered complete it must contain;
1. The applicant’s name.
2. The applicant’s legal residence address.
3. The applicant’s date of birth.
4. An indication that the applicant is a citizen of the United States.
5. The applicant’s Florida driver’s license number, the identification number from a Florida identification card issued under s. 322.051, or the last four digits of the applicant’s social security number.
6. An indication that the applicant has not been convicted of a felony or that, if convicted, has had his or her civil rights restored.
7. An indication that the applicant has not been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting or that, if so adjudicated, has had his or her right to vote restored.
8. Signature of the applicant swearing or affirming under the penalty for false swearing pursuant to s. 104.011 that the information contained in the registration application is true and subscribing to the oath required by s. 3, Art. VI of the State Constitution and s.97.051.
(b) An applicant who fails to designate party affiliation must be registered without party affiliation. The supervisor must notify the voter by mail that the voter has been registered without party affiliation and that the voter may change party affiliation as provided in s. 97.1031.

Exactly Ken. If they want to cry foul, they have to show that some were not disqualified for the same problem. Race has nothing to do with it. Is the election board following the law?

You're right. During Florida 2000 (hereafter known as the Autumn From Hell), I heard both sides claiming deliberate fraud, and I wanted the noise to stop.

I know that this isn't any sort of a source to quote, but that being said: According to Dave Barry in several of his writings it's commonplace for homeless people to be recruited off of the street and driven from poll to poll to vote under an assumed name at each location. They get paid about $10 per vote.

Now, Dave is a humorist, but he HAS made statements to this effect a few times, and I wonder if there might not be a grain of truth?
