Ubi bene ibi patria
It appears that mooning (with a twist) is a custom of long standing back in the good old days
In the book “The Historical Jesus: The life of a Mediterranean Jewish Peasant (J.D. Crossan), during a Passover feast in Palestine circa 48-52 C.E........
“One of the soldiers raising his robe, stooped in an indecent attitude, so as to turn his backside to the Jews, made a noise in keeping with his posture.”
This of course pissed off the crowd who retaliated by throwing insults and/or rocks at the current governor and then, not even being attacked, ran like hell, crushing thousands in their haste to make a getaway.
I have to give the early historians credit for the elegant phraseology used, maybe they didn't have any one word descriptions for mooning and farting.
