REPORT: Iranian Bride Killed In Celebratory Gunfire On Day Of Wedding

An Iranian bride died on her wedding day in early July when a stray bullet struck her during a traditional celebration.

Mahvash Leghaei, 24, was toasting to her new marriage in Firuzabad city when a 36-year-old male guest began firing a “high powered hunting rifle” as part of a traditional, illegal Middle Eastern celebration, News AU reported. Leghaei was struck in the skull by one of the bullets, which also hit two male wedding guests, according to the outlet.

The shooter, who is reportedly a cousin of the groom, fled the scene before being found by police, the outlet reported.
