Isn't that a crime? I was at Leonardtown Ford yesterday and they had a hot rod Mustang on the floor it was over $100,000 .

My first new car, a Subaru BRAT, was $5500 out the door, loaded. Well, loaded as well as a '78 could be loaded. That's less than the TAX on that $100k Mustang.

My first new truck was a 92 F150 Custom, 300-I6, Automatic transmission and air-condition.

$12,136.

If I priced out a similar truck right now it would be 3 times that.

I've never owned a new car or truck for myself. Bought a few for wives over the years though.

It's not quite that bad yet.

I just priced out a similar level build with all the same types of features the Customs had back then with the extras I got on it and it came to a touch over 34k.

I am sure however that it won't take long, at current inflation rates, to bump that over the 40k mark by next year.
