I have a little one, but I'm young. My son doesn't like it when the wind blows his hair every which way, and I can't hear him telling me about his day (in his 2 year old baby-speak) with the windows down. Running a/c isn't a bad thing on an 80 degree day. That's JMO

A/C doesn't affect gas mileage a great deal. IMO the comfort outweighs the extra 75 cents a week I'll have to pay in gas to run it...

blue  How bout yours?

I drive a Honda, and my gas mileage hasn't really been affected by a/c. But I don't blast it 24/7, just enough to cool it down, then I turn it off.

Maybe it is a weight thing... I am so fat, I sweat when it is in the 30's outside... :ohwell:
That would also explain the terrible mileage I get...

The sun on my world is actually a yellow cupcake...

See now, I'm thin, and my car is little, so it may be a weight thing

My mechanic buddy said...."if you open all your windows, and are on a long trip, the gas consumption is greater, due to increased aerodynamic drag, than if you were to use your A/C."

With your windows down the inside of your car becomes a parachute.

A convertable has over twice the coefficient of drag of the sedan version of a car with the windows up.

My Toyota I can't tell the difference in mileage. Something to note is summer gasoline and winter gasoline are two different blends....
