The new release includes Cloud so you can access your music/books/whatever from all of your devices wirelessly. This means your phone, your pad - whatever you have. No syncing, no nothing - it just there.

NOW I'm impressed with iTunes. Always hated i-anything but Apple finally appears to be getting into the real world instead of catering to the faithful.

I postponed my last request for iTunes update yesterday. Now you have me curious and am going to have to go do it and check out what they have cooking over there.

The iCloud service is going to be super cool. Take a picture with your iPhone, and it will immediately show up on all of your devices (including in your PC's photo library) - and your spouse's, if you want. Make a change to a spreadsheet or word processor file, and it will automatically be reflected on all the copies on all of your devices. Buy a book, or song, or app - and it will automatically be pushed to all your devices if you want. They are eliminating the hassles of file management - no more having to think about moving stuff around, it will just be wherever you want it before you even need it and without you even having to think about it.

And, over the air updates (finally) will make a big difference to some people. Now there will be no need to ever hook up an iPhone or iPad to a PC if you don't want to.

The iTunes match service took me by complete surprise - I'm not sure how they were able to get the music labels to agree to that service. I guess they just have a lot of leverage with those labels because they are the number 1 retailer of music in the world.

I just figured out how to play my iPod in my Ford Edge today! I kept looking for an aux jack, but it's all controlled through the My Touch! Damn, I hate it when my car is smarter than me!!!

I'm up for a phone upgrade in August. May have to look into this.

Tilted (and other i-people), in case you didn't know, there's an app out called Find My iPhone, which also works on iPad. If you misplace your device or someone steals it, you can log into me.com from any computer and it will pinpoint exactly where your device is. When I tried it, it actually showed my house, not just the general area.

If you've misplaced it in the house, you can send a tone to the device and it will beep for 2 minutes or until you find it.
