I just turned on the TV and caught a partial slo-mo replay. Looks horrible. Dan Wheldon airlifted out. Hope he makes it.

I'm kinda thinking he hasn't made it. They aren't showing the crash anymore, the announcers are very solemn in their speech and all the teams are huddled in prayer.

They've been that way since the incident, very downcast. The wreck was a mess, parts everywhere. Some cars went airborne, others went over and past the safer barrier into the fence. Basically all started with cars in very close quarters and a tire rub. No place to go.

What was the actual lap the crash occured? I've heard 11, 12 & 13. This shouldn't be difficult for the news outlets to get correct.
