Jack Palance, the gravel-voiced actor whose career spanned bad guy and, later, funny guy roles, died today at the age of 87. According to family members, Palance passed away at his Montecito, Calif. home of "natural causes."

On the eve of Veterans Day, a WWII veteran returns home.
My condolences to his family and friends.

One of the top 10 bads guys ever with his role in "Shane". That cruel smile was like no other.

I'll never forget when he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1992, he dropped to the floor and did a series of one-hand push-ups while Billy Crystal looked on in shock...what a moment.
