Jack Russell

Hey everyone I have a 7yo Female Jack Russell that needs to find a good home. She is UTD on all shots and spayed. She is normally good with kids but has an issue with our 10 month old Daughter. I am assuming she is feeling threatened by the new addition to the family, because she has snapped at her a few times. I have never had a problem before now, gets along great with other dogs and cats, and kids but just not the baby. She is crate trained and housebroken.

You are a disgusting individual! You have had the dog for much longer than the baby. Put the baby up for adoption and keep the dog. People like you make me want to move in with Mousebaby.

Unfortunately not that uncommon with JRT's. Had a friend had to give one up because of the same deal, it snapped at their youngest kid.

Yes I have heard that it could happen, but was hoping for the best. I believe it has to do with the whole pack mentality. Unfortunately I dont want to take a chance that my JR snaps at the baby and actually gets her. Geuss Ill post on the classifieds section as well, just thought I would try here first to see if anyone would be interested. I dont want my JR just going to anyone.

Yup, quite common in JRT's. Ours did this as well. I simply taught the kids not to annoy the dog and all was well. It was easier than trying to teach the dog that is was okay to let the kids pull, yank and sit on her.

Well the baby doesnt pull, yank or sit on her, she will however pet the dog on the head, which is what we have been teaching her to do. I just do not want to take any chances.

Our JRT can act the same way to the kids, they just leave her alone because they know, she can be a biatch...

I have 6 JRTs and 3 children and we all live together just fine. JRTs are known to not do well with younger children as stated. I have had the oldest JRT for 10 yrs and he is a Dikhead to put it nicely- we teach the kids how to treat ours. Sorry to hear of your troubles but I think it could work out if you were willing to take the time to do so. No one said owning a dog was easy but I look at it as its well worth the work to have mine. BTW my kids are 2 -11- and 15 and even my 2 yr old knows to leave the mean one alone.

There you go,, it's all about understanding everyone's personal space. She has her special closet..when she is extra biatchy, she goes in there with all the things she keeps hidden in there that she steals throughout the day!!!
