Jack Russell

Hi Everyone. I have placed an ad in the dogs section but thought I might get the word out better here.

I have a 9 year old male nuetered Jack Russell Terrier that I need to find a new home for. We dont have the time he deserves or the money to keep him. He is house broken, loves people and good with older kids. He does, however, need to have surgery. He has bladder stones. The vet has said he would probably be fine without the surgery, but he recommends him having it just to be on the safe side.

Its not that we dont love him, we do. I bought him from a local breeder in 2001 for my husband. They have been best friends ever since. But now, with his illness and the fact that he does not do well with small children, we have a 1 year old, it isnt fair for us to keep him outside when he has been an inside dog all this time.

We have contacted Russell Rescue Inc and they say they are to overloaded to take him. I know its alot to ask, but if there is anyone out there who would like a wonderful little dog who loves to sit in your lap all day I would love to hear from you.

Thank you!
Erin

If you have the contract from the breeder you purchased him from, you may want to check and see if there is a clause that says they will take him back if you ever need to rehome him.
That is; assuming they were "good" breeders and are still in the business of selling dogs.
Have you looked into alternatives besides surgery for the bladder stones?

We have a 6 year old female JRT that I took in when she was 3 months old. I would be open to letting them meet and see how it goes. Can you bring yours over and lets see what happens? I think it would give mine someone to play with. :)

There was no contract when we bought him. I dont think the person we bought him from is breeding anymore. I know her stud dog and Merlin's Mom passed away.

We have looked into alternatives. Nothing seems to be helping. At this point, we feel we arnt being fair to him by keeping him outside.

Lynn, sent you pics!!!

We are still looking for a home for him if anyone knows anyone looking. The other two looking at him couldnt take him because of the fact that we were told he needs surgery. I have contacted several rescues who all say they are full. I am still trying but I could really use a miracle right now!!!

Erin, our vet told us that Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville is not a kill center, they try to adopt out.

Also, call your vet or take him into the vet, they may know of someone who is looking for a Jack Russell.

Good luck!

Adopt me please !
It's difficult to adopt out middle aged and older animals. That's why when I went to the shelter I picked an older cat that was surely being put down in a few days they said. Sure she won't live as long as a younger cat, but at least she gets to LIVE.

I wish you luck finding your dog a home.
