So today I went to Cirque Ma'Ceo - it's acrobats with horses involved. It sounded way better than what it was. Once you've seen Cirque du Soleil or even a Ringling Bros circus, these small things are a letdown.

This is why people my age - especially if they've been around a bit - don't think anything is fun. We've seen and experienced so many things that our wow-factor is set high. Go big or go home. My friend was like, "At this point we're just applauding out of politeness."

I mean, it was fine - if someone I knew said, "Hey watch this" and proceeded to do one of the stunts I'd be impressed. But none of it was worth paying to see.

I understand. I've seen Cirque de Soleil about15 years ago with Jazz and my Bug. It was really great. Last December they had a show at the MGM, so I got tickets for sis and I since we were already at the Gaylord that weekend. It was a huge letdown.

Are you all telling me that if the Ice Capades were were reintroduced, I would not enjoy the show? Oh the horror!

Saw a few videos to satisfy my curiosity. Yeah, I can see how after seeing spectacular feats in high grade events might make it seem disappointing.

I think if I saw this kind of skill level at the county fair, it might seem different - it's "free" at the fair, and the performers might be your own neighbors.

Actually some of the stuff I've enjoyed are the regular equestrian shows they have at places like Upper Marlboro. I once saw a guy manage a team of Clydesdales doing seemingly mundane things like parallel park the team into a small boxed in area surrounded by flags - or have the entire team do jumps. They have competitions where horses will do the same thing that sheepdogs do - aggressively and without human intervention. It may not be "wow!" but it's impressive.

What about Irish dancing groups? Would you feel the same way? Or, would each experience feel completely different from the last? I'm thinking each show would have it's own "wow-factor". Because of the viewer's mental participation, the beats, the music, the all around visuals and sounds, etc..

Video set to start at with the whole troupe. Turn up the volume for some awesomeness.
