Dear Marylanders,

Earlier this week, I announced six additional state-run, hospital based testing sites in order to meet the rising demand for testing and divert people from visiting hospital emergency rooms to get COVID-19 tests. These sites are all expected to be fully operational by the end of next week, and will be open seven days a week with no appointment necessary.

To withstand the wave, we are encouraging all Marylanders to continue doing the things that can keep us safe: avoiding crowds, keeping your distance, washing your hands, wearing masks or face coverings when appropriate, and getting vaccinated and boosted. To find a vaccine provider and schedule an appointment, visit covidvax.maryland.gov or call 1-855-MD-GOVAX.

Next to getting vaccinated and your booster shot, wearing masks is one of the best mitigation strategies we have. Beginning next week, the Maryland Department of Health will distribute 20 million N95 and KN95 and will be available free of charge through local health departments and at all state-run testing and vaccination sites.

We will keep taking whatever actions are necessary and we urge Marylanders to remain vigilant so that together we can continue leading the nation with our health and economic recovery.

On Monday, we will take time to observe and recognize the incredible life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a principled leader whose legacy remains a great inspiration. As we reflect on the life that Dr. King led, let us also embrace our shared role in changing Maryland and our nation for the better.

Thank you for staying Maryland Strong.

Sincerely,

Signature: Larry Hogan
