Java script

My computer keeps saying I am trying to run it. When I click on "I don't wanna do this anymore" it won't let me close it or make it go away. I also noted that I can no longer click on a smilie, have to type it in. How do I get rid of this java script thing that continues to run and won't let me turn it off? DR put some security on here on Friday, but he did the same on his computer and it isn't doing it. Also, I can't just post to a forum and be brought back. I have to "click here if it doesn't return you " to return to what I posted. Anyone?????

I'd go to add / remove programs, uninstall all versions of java you find - reboot - go to:

download and install the latest version ..........

(clicking on the link will start the download for XP / 2003)

Most of the time I have a problem with my computer I just do a reboot and it fixes most of them. Good luck.

It wasn't java script, though I did install the newer java whatever dohickey. It's something else. It started when we put the upgraded Norton Antivirus on. Problems ever since.

Then in that case it has to be something to do with Norton. Open the Norton control center and set your options. That may fix it.

If this is happening only in your browser then you have turned off javascript. almost every website uses javascript which is why you are getting the error.

Which browser and version are you using?

Javascript and Java have nothing to do with each other except the four letters J a v and a.
