In remarks on Fox News that could deepen a growing rift between gun owners and the Trump administration, Ms. Pirro declared that if anyone brings “a gun into the District, you mark my words, you’re going to jail. I don’t care if you have a license in another district and I don’t care if you’re a law-abiding gun owner somewhere else.”

Her remarks prompted swift pushback from the Republican Party’s pro-Second Amendment wing, which was thrown into a cycle of confusion and frustration over comments from President Trump and some in his administration after Alex Pretti, a licensed gun owner, was shot by federal immigration agents last month during a protest in Minneapolis.

Following DC law. There is no reciprocal agreement/law for concealed carry with DC. You can have a license in Virginia or Maryland and it doesn't apply to DC. Don't take your gun there. Its against the law. That's all she was saying. Some nimrods are making it sound like a 2nd amendment violation when it's just a local law that everyone must obey. Now, she also said she wouldn't prosecute as a federal issue, but that doesn't protect you against the local police.

Sound more to me like Trump and her are telling the Nation they are enforcing the law.. both local and federal. Regardless if they believe it is right or wrong, it's the current law and will be enforced.

Understand this is a hard concept for a Liberal to understand when they believe they can pick and choose which laws they want to enforce.

I remember DC cops searching vehicles if they stopped you for any reason and they were looking for guns and ammo. The folks that were attending events at gun ranges were told to avoid DC. Even finding one shotgun shell or bullet was enough to put you in deep “stuff”. It was at least 15 years ago when were going to the VA hospital the road was shut down because they found “something suspicious” in a van. A friend told us later it was arrows. I don’t know if that was the truth or a cover story.

I don't know of a single 2A supporter that doesn't support rigid enforcement of existing laws. We also support repeal of feel-good laws that do nothing for public safety but contradict the 2A. What we oppose is more stupid laws that won't be enforced. The idiot left really believes more laws will make us safer.

It ticks me off that folks bash legal gun owners. I’d bet that the majority of the shootings at these clubs and birthday parties involve unregistered/illegal guns. Back in the early 80s there was a UHaul box truck that would show up in the Flat Tops (Lexington Park) and sell guns. Lots of people knew about it, nobody stopped it.
The database list for those that shouldn’t be allowed to buy legally isn’t up to date. It was said they couldn’t keep up with it (manpower shortages). It’s easier to blame those acting within the laws. A close parallel to human illegals. In order to destroy our right to life, some folks attack the law abiding and protect the illegal. I wonder if things would change if it directly affected THEIR family.
