I love your jeep you got last year. Are you going to trade in already?

Oh no. I've been looking for my own, that one I got for my husband while he was in A'stan. I've come really close to getting a little sport, but now that I've seen this, I think I might wait.

What a nice surprise for him! Never get a little sport. I think 'tanks' are the way to go. I miss my 95 LandRover Discovery big red box. He was a trooper, and I felt safe. We gave him to Purple Heart 2 years ago. We are looking at the in the works new Ford Bronco 'tank', but both of our cars still have a lot of mileage left. We will see.

I like my S-10 for driving around town, husband uses the Jeep or bike for work. I want a little beater Sport for trails only, something I can beat the heck out of and not have to worry about how it looks. We can fix whatever breaks or we have plenty of friends in our Jeep club that will lend a hand.

Oh, I forgot you like the off roading. I am just a go shopping come home person. Too different lifestyles. You go, Kat! Seriously. I could use some of your sense of adventure!

You have no idea, after yesterday, my husband and I were just sitting outside talking about some of the things we've done and how are we still here to talk about them.

This is a good convo. My husband (a wilderness freak, Marine special op, loves camping, going on horseback treks to shoot elk, live in the mountains away from everyone kind of person) is trying to talk me into moving to Montana, Wyoming or parts there about. I would love that. I do have that innate ability to do the roughing, but my children/to be grandchildren are here, so I won't go. But, deep down (I won't tell them that), but I would absolutely love to be set free. Don't give up your wild side!

Oh, and I forgot to say that he is an ultra runner, and wants me to go to all his races. He would like to run across America, and Europe and every where else. Maybe, I should tell him it is a trade off, and I will take the great car. Just kidding. I am proud of him, as I know you are about your hub.

Edit: Both are hubs served in different eras; mine in Viet Nam and yours in Afghan, but it is all the same. I just hope in the end, it was all worth it through the heart ache of it all. I know this is off topic, but have to take the chance to express thoughts when we can.

I would recommend a late 90's XJ aka Jeep Cherokee
- it was listed as one of the 10 best bargains on e-bay for $ 3500
... cheap easy to work on, and the 4.0s go 300,000 easily ... you may replace the trans once or twice in that time ... but the engines last

with a 4 inch life 35's are easy ..... and if you want to spend the coin, a 4.6 Stroker is the way to go for more power
