Jesus didn't want to start a war.

Matthew 12:15 Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill. 16 He warned them not to tell others about him. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
18 “Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
the one I love, in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out;
no one will hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.
21 In his name the nations will put their hope.”
Yesterday, the big guys in the church, the Pharisees, harassed Jesus about working on Sunday.

Yesterday, in response, Jesus told them humans were more important than laws.

Yesterday, in response, Jesus healed a crippled hand.... right under the noses of those "law and order" Pharisees.

Today.... he's giving those uppity up priests a break. He's moved away from them.

People still followed after Him... But He warned them all to keep quiet about His Works.

I think Jesus wanted to give the priests a break too... after all, resting on the Sabbath is one of the Commandments.

Jesus wasn't there to conquer. He didn't want to run all the priests out of the Temple and take over.

He didn't want to throw out the Commandments.

That wasn't His Mission. The Mission was to end the death sentence Adam and Eve put on us in the Garden.

He wasn't there to war with them.

He also didn't want His followers storming the Temple.

He wasn't there to stir up the crowds.

Can't you just see Him putting His fingers to His lips and sssshhhhushing the crowd as if to say "Leave the Priests alone... they're only doing what they think their jobs require."

Jesus wasn't there to start a war.

Many would take this as proof that Jesus wasn't the Messiah they were foretold about, as the Messiah was supposed to be a great conquering hero that would lead his flocks into battle and defeat their enemies. Jesus was not supposed to be a pacifist.

He wasn't here to start a war. He had the "troops" because at least hundreds of people followed Him around all the time. He didn't even need "troops" because He could have called down Angels to do the fighting. AND.... since He is God in Human form.... He could have just turned the priests to dust and taken over. God, you know, can do whatever He so chooses.

God could have made us all peaceful back then.... but how would we recognize evil if it came back?

He'll be back to do the big battle.... but for this Mission.... He was only here to bring back eternal life.

Or that's how I figure it. The priests were just a necessary annoyance... He had to get them to put Him on the Cross to complete the Mission.

Or that's how I figure it.

See, you only follow the testaments that you agree with.. this is NOT the messiah that was foretold. Why the Jewish believe he has not arrived yet.

Yep, most church people only follow the testaments they agree with. I asked my Jewish brother-in-law.... why he didn't believe Jesus to be the Messiah. He said the world is in a horrible place.... the Messiah would cure that. I see how some would be upset that the Messiah didn't just bring down the legions and beat the humans into submission...

But what would that have proved? Conquest is not always the answer.

Jesus won't fight with humans anyway.... Satan is the foe He will lock up.

Humans wouldn't stand a chance against a conquering God.... what would it prove?

Being kind... being a pacifist.... is much more impressive.... if you ask me.

Again, The messiah was not to be a demi-God.. or have any kind of healing powers. He wouldn't be a conquering God, he would be a Messiah. A Leader, a normal everyday human that leads humanity away from evil.

Well, you're just confusing me. Why would God not try a peaceful approach first?

It seems to me the Jewish tradition is more about "wrath" than "love".... and that's what Jesus was preaching against.

Why would God create "love" and "peace" but go right for "conquest" and "wrath"?

Wouldn't God, who created honey, realize the reason so many were following Jesus was probably because of His Peaceful Loving demeaner?

Are you saying, if He had gathered His followers and stormed the Temple, He would have proven himself to be the Messiah?
