Matthew 11:20 Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
Ever since forever, people have taken Jesus for granted. Imagine a man all full of scales.... horrible scabby scales.... so bad, just looking at him makes us all itch.... Jesus made that all go away... and they were fine again.
My fellow women.... imagine having a period that would not go away! That woman just touched the hem of His cloak and was healed.
Imagine knowing a man has been paralyzed since forever.... and then we see that man get up, bend over, pick up his mat, and walk away! Jesus made that possible.
Have you ever seen someone so close to death that you yourself said an unsolicited prayer for them? And then instantly they were cured. Jesus answered a prayer.
The people Jesus was disgusted with.... saw His work firsthand. They took it for granted. They even called Him a demon. They argued about how He lived His life as if He were some woe begotten celebrity.
Yep... Jesus knows what it's like to be taken for granted.
Don't take Jesus for granted.... you have been warned.... by Jesus Himself.
Jesus warned them.
