Priest slammed for saying Jesus was ‘Palestinian Jew’ in ‘occupied’ country in CNN interview: ‘Embarrassingly wrong’

A priest on CNN attempted to link the “story of Christmas” to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, sparking intense backlash on social media.

On Christmas morning Monday, Father Edward Beck was asked about the “pain and suffering” taking place all over the world during the holiday season and to address those who are feeling “hopeless.”

“I think the message of Christmas is that God enters into it with us and we’re not alone in it,” Beck responded. “What I’m so struck by is that the story of Christmas is about a Palestinian Jew- how often do you find those words put together? A Palestinian Jew born into a time when his country was occupied, right? They can’t find a place for her to even give birth, his mother. They’re homeless. They eventually have to flee as refugees into Egypt, no less. I mean, you can’t make up the parallels to our current world situation right now.”

He continued, “And so in some way, that is who we believe God becomes born into that situation and yet, that very man, Jesus, says love one another, love your enemies. There is hope. There is light in the darkness. I’m attesting to that. So somehow that God enters that experience of suffering and that struggle and is actually born into it. That is what is so miraculous about this celebration for me.”

I'm tired of people saying Jesus was Palestinian, also Joseph and Mary were refugees. SO annoying, it's like these freaking people have never heard of the Bible or even the story of Christmas, yet they blather like morons.

Also:

A priest on CNN...

Some people will do literally anything, no matter how dishonest or embarrassing, for money.

That's an awefully specific objection. Hey, there may have been a huge territory identified by Rome as Palestine, but technically it wasn't a country! And my proof is that it isn't mentioned by name in one specific semi-historical document, the bible.

There was a Palestine, though it's entirely debatable if the people who lived there had any relation (ancestrally, culturally, religiously) to those who claim the name now.

The government forced them to travel scores of miles for a census so they would pay their fair share. When they show up at the family homestead, the whole family was there. So they settled into the garage/manger.

Sometime later the powers in charge fearing an insurgency, send troops to kill all males under two after the magi visit on Jan 6th.

After the Romans forced the Jews to leave, the region was renamed Palestine to further erase Jewish Heritage, but the still never was a country with a king called Palestine.

The one EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS than calling Jesus a Palestinian Jew (that's amazing - are today's Palestinians Jewish?) - was where the protesters called the Jews ---

Wait for it ---

Nazis.

I can't begin to laugh at that one. Nazis. Do they know ANYTHING about history?

After crushing the Jewish revolts in the 1st and 2nd Centuries, the Romans renamed the Region Syria Palestina.
Basically they called the southern part of their Syrian possessions, as an administrative district, Philistine Syria.

Earlier Wednesday, we did a post of all the people who are Palestinian (besides Jesus) — people like Amir Al-Paul McCartney and Woody al Len. The hot take right now is that Jesus was a Palestinian refugee; CNN's Vatican correspondent seemed to think Bethelem was in Gaza and Jesus would be born under a pile of rubble. CNN religion correspondent Father Edward Beck explained, "The story of Christmas is about a Palestinian Jew born into an occupied country, having to flee as refugees into Egypt."

Cenk Uygur, who hosts a show named after the perpetrators of the Armenian genocide, has joined the crown of people who think Jesus was Palestinian. If Jesus returned to his birthplace of Palestine, would he survive the night?

Some people reading this must be really confused!!!

I guess the best way to avoid AI is to read the Book. Turn the actual pages. I still have mine and there are thousands and thousands of copies available in churches all around wherever you may reside.

Jesus was not born in Gaza. Jesus grew up in Israel, and He did travel, but neither Bethlehem nor Nazareth was located in Gaza.

Just wanted to clear that up. TIA...

So Egypt used to take Palestinian refugees. Why not now?
