Jesus was just too famous!

Mark 3:20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house. 28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
After reading this one more time.... I'm beginning to see that the person who originally taught me this lesson messed up.

Jesus was drawing crowds all day and all night. He couldn't get a minute to Himself. Jesus was famous!

I bet that got to be a real problem for His earthly family. Can you imagine? "You're the sister of Jesus.... can you get Him a message for me.... my aunt has a mole on her nose and it's making her into a witch. Will you have your brother Jesus heal it? I hear He only has to get the request and it will come true! Here... I wrote it down for you." Jesus was famous.

I bet the synagogues were empty. I bet they were all hunting Jesus. After all, He could heal a leper, make the paralyzed walk, and the blind to see. All the priests at the synagogue could do is slaughter animals and pour blood on the alter. It's said they make a mean loaf of bread. But the synagogue priests cannot heal. They don't even have Sabbath hours for emergencies. Jesus doesn't require an appointment. Jesus was really famous!

And now... the big lie.... they made up a lie to try to get their crowds back. They told people Jesus was working for the Devil himself.... ah ha ha! People back then were more suspicious than we are today. If the priests said something or someone was of the devil, the people shunned it. That was the law, so to speak. If they could get people to believe that Jesus was of the devil, then they would tame those crowds and get the people back in the synagogues. Those coin purses were getting pretty slim, they had to do something. Jesus was just too famous!

He didn't have time to eat. He didn't have time for His family. He didn't have time but He wasn't complaining. He was on a Mission. He considered humans His family. He considered His Disciples to be His family. His Mother knew where to find Him. He would be the one at the center of the biggest crowd in town.

Jesus was just too famous!
