In doubt? Throttle out!
Get a job bussing, serving, or cooking at a local restaurant. You don't really need a resume for jobs like that, plus you make bank in tip money. I go to CSM and have been bussing and sometimes cooking for a few months now. Have you had a job before?

EMA is looking for Tech Writers, and editting staff. You should probably suck up to someone that works there and ask them for ....

My oldest boy is a English Major (Senior next year) at St Mary's College, he's going back to get his minor or an AS in Pysics.

Think he'd do well as a tech writer?

Can't you people get a life? This is a 18 year old kid looking for his first job out of high school for christ sake. Are all of you only capable of coming down hard like an a$$? Frankly, you're disgusting and a waste of DNA.

Uh....the thing that you are forgetting, is that the people on this forum are just like the people doing the hiring....in fact, many of us DO hire people, or be in a position to influence hiring. Dur.

And if a resume came across my desk looking like that (with the misspellings, the grammatical errors, bad attitude), that resume would go in to the dumpster so fast it'd start a trash fire.

I'm not forgetting anything. Since there are so many people here in such high places with the commensurate amount of power and wisdom, would it be to much to ask you wise people to help this young person instead of insulting him? I'm certainly glad none of you were my parents, I'd have hated to grown up like you.

Would you hire him for any type of professional job based on his posts? It amazes me that kids are allowed to graduate high school that uneducated.

Based on his posts and resume, he is not good enough for EMA. EMA is too proud to hire anyone that uneducated....

:yeahthat: Good lord you #######s. The kid graduated school and is using a computer to try to find a job. My spelling is ridiculous and it's not due to lack of education seeing as I passed two English courses in college. You're all really cool. Good job! :yay:

As bad as you think all these post are, we would be doing him a disservice by not pointing out his shortcomings. I bet he rewrites his resume and spell checks the hell out of it before submitting it to any company. The job market is tough, this is only the first layer of the many he will experience in the real world of business. I do wish him luck, at least he's looking for a job verse asking directions to the nearest Social Services office...:yay:
