Jobs at Pax River for Security Engineer?

I am considering trying to relocate from Florida to Southern Maryland. I haven't been in Florida very long, and find I miss the DC area. However, I would prefer living a bit further out. Prior to moving to Florida, I lived in Northern Virginia for almost 20 years. I also grew up in Marlow Heights. My one year's employment obligation with my current employ will be completed in July, and I'm interested in a potential job at the Pax River naval base doing IT security work. My last two jobs have involved performing Certification & Accreditation on Federal government systems. I also worked for a DoJ client on Quantico doing other security related work. I am retired military and have a combined almost 29 years military/contract experience. I also have a current TS clearance.

Can someone tell me where I can find out about job opportunities at Pax River?

I've found the best and most plentiful CISSP jobs are in NoVA. If you prefer to live further out and are collecting federal retirement, you might want to check into West VA. It's a nice rural area where federal retirement is not taxed and it would not be a bad commute to NoVA where there are a LOT more jobs involving C&A and ST&Es work.

Hello,

We both seem to be in a quandry of sorts. You want to leave Florida and I want to leave Southern Maryland. Heres the scoop. I currently work in support of Pax river. There is a job opening in Colorado Springs which I want to transfer to. I cannot transfer out there until someone is found with a TS clearance and Sun experience to replace me and according to your post you have a TS clearance. Anyways, if this sounds at all interesting reply to this thread.

I agree with you, but I came from NOVA before relocating to Florida last year. I have no desire to return there, and would really like to find something around Pax River. My preference is to live in Maryland, preferabbly Southern Maryland. Thanks.

I have many years experience working with Sun systems, and a current TS clearance, but I'm looking specifically to stay within the security/IA arena.
