As printed, JoeB just forgave student loans, costing the taxpayers a load of money. Somebody has to pay the colleges, professors and student housing...

Now, let's do some figuring here... The average "student" has a very high tuition bill. The college industry made sure its profit margins were very high to pay "professors" large sums to essentially indoctrinate brains of mush.

Graduates are then taking positions like working at 7-11 or mowing lawns because our industry's jobs have been outsourced to other Countries.... you know, because they didn't like paying entry level employees 100K a year as a "living wage" based on Federal policies.

Hmmmmmm...

Hey JoeB, why not wave your magic wand and forgive the average taxpayers credit card bills??? How 'bout opening the pipeline for oil, groceries, and eliminate "grants" for colleges, PBS or Nancy's ice cream??

I think a bigger reason is that we are pumping out a silly number of useless degrees that have no chance in hell of ever employing that many people......

I can get on board with THIS reimbursement at least - it's refunding money from people who were swindled. THIS one is specifically targeted at a franchise of colleges who took people's money and gave them in some cases, literally nothing. The government is at least partially culpable for having facilitated the loans without checking out that the people receiving the money were outright crooks.

Crooks. That's every damned college in America. They are all stealing money with their super high tuitions.

I've ran into a lot of people that were lead to believe they were getting a real engineering degree from places like ITT tech and Devry only to find out they didn't when they went looking for a job.

The government and high schools are as much to blame as the student. As a first gen college graduate I wouldn't have know the difference.
