This was from 2 weeks ago.

John Deere is facing intense backlash after its controversial decision to move manufacturing operations to Mexico, a move that could impact thousands of U.S. workers. Critics argue that this shift, coupled with the company's history of questionable decisions like software-locking its tractors, could harm its reputation. How is John Deere any different from the auto industry.?
I remember when a street mechanic or anyone with tools could work on their own car.
Today you can't even fix the heater without a computer program.

True. Just had a new steering rack put in the truck, and it had to be programmed. A steering rack. The days of the shade tree mechanic are over.
And again, this is why I'm keeping my vehicles alive as long as they keep making parts for them and I'm able to hold a wrench.

The heater now has no cable it has a step-motor.
You have to have the computer program to get the computer to know where the position of the step-motor is and have the computer recognize that position and bring the Computer and the step-motor into marriage. The motor is cheap the computer program or the programmer isn't.

Time for a gm switch and resistor. That might chap JD's ass just a bit. I'll even add pigtails and an English language manual.
