Good morning! What's everyone doing today? Family, friends, cook outs, boating, etc.?
Since I have no family around and my husband is still overseas, I am volunteering at the CAWL thrift store to set up and price things for Friday and Saturday. Have a steak and corn on the cob in the fridge to come home to!

Just chillin' today. Had friends and family here from last Thursday through yesterday. Ahm all tarred out...

I went to the Journey tribute band concert (Eclipse) yesterday at the Rod & Reel /CB Resort. One of my girlfriends' husband drove us all, soo...we partied a little bit. Not a bad concert, after the rains left and the band got their electricity back up on stage. NOT as hot as last year, and not as many people, either, so it was a fun night.

I'm just going to do my usual 5K walk in a bit and then later will grill some burgers for Thing1 and I - as we are also orphans with no family nearby and Thing2 is working.

Beer, brats, baked beans, German potato salad, watermelon, apple pie, fireworks at Solomons, then home to the porch swing to watch the fireflies, and snuggle. Life's good. Happy Fourth!

Editing some YouTube videos then catching up on book work. Payroll and sales taxes need to be paid. Gotta cut the grass but not sure it that will happen today. Adult beverage time will probably start earlier than normal.

Refurbished the porch light, in the process of putting it back up. Got some chicken thighs defrosting. Other than that, quiet day. Thought about going to Solomons for the fireworks tonight, then quickly changed my mind.

Probably the lowest key 4th we've had in years. Son is away all week, best friend's family visiting a very ill mom, and so on down the line.
Even next door neighbor is up in Maine. So it's just us.

The good thing about it is, the menu - and all the cooking - is going to be minimal. I like having a lot of guests - but it's a lot of work.
And we usually have more barbecue or smoked stuff.

Off to a cookout in a few minutes, then maybe fireworks at the Pier. There've been fireworks on the 2nd and 3rd that I can watch from my deck, so I may or may not feel like venturing out. But Monello likes the fireworks,but he also just got back from a road trip. We'll see.
