Virtual Meeting to Solicit Redistricting Comments as Part of Ongoing Listening Tour


(June 17, 2021) ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission, a bipartisan commission created by Governor Larry Hogan to draw fair and representative legislative and congressional district maps for the 2022 elections, will hold a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. for residents of Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. The meeting will conclude upon the completion of testimony from the last speaker. Individuals from all other counties are welcome to join the meeting. This is the first of three rounds of public meetings – the first round is a listening tour; the second round will occur later in 2021 after Census data is distributed to the states; and the third round will occur after the Commission drafts legislative and congressional maps.

WHO: Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission and Residents of Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. Reminder, although the focus is Southern Maryland, anyone from any county is welcome to join the meeting.
