Just a thought ...

Anyone that's always wanted to travel to Europe may want to consider this summer as a great time to do it. The Euro is hovering around $1.20 - the lowest it's been relative to the Dollar in over 4 years - and I don't see it making any great gains anytime soon.

European travel would be much cheaper now than it has been in recent years. The Euro has fallen 20% in just the last 6 months. So, a Dollar should go about 25% further than it would have 6 months ago.

Of course, it might be wise to avoid some places (e.g. Greece), as you never know when you might wake up to find that all the hotel and public transportation workers have decided to go on vacation, uh - I mean go on strike - for the day.

This summer might be another opportunity to see Europe on the (relatively) cheap. The Dollar is again strong versus the Euro, with a Euro now going for about $1.25. They were fetching $1.40 to $1.45 last summer.

The dollar is really strong right now. It's at decade-long highs, perhaps most notably against the Euro. A dollar and 12 cents now gets you a full Euro. Are we headed for Dollar-Euro parity?

Anyway, that Europe trip could be especially cheap right now and likely still cheap come summer.
