Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
So there it is again.... "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".Ask any mom.... she loves all her children. Ask any dad.... he loves all his children.
That doesn't mean that the children are all lovable. Every single child I have ever known should qualify to be a Gru in the new Minions movie. People are just savages..... until they know the rules.
Not everything we ask for has to be for us, you know. I pray for things and events for other people too.... I pray for my children all the time. Right now the youngest is having some issues..... but God is taking care of them.... if she'll get out of the way and let Him.
Oh and when I pray.... it's not a get on the floor on my knees with my hands and feet just so.... it's on the go.... with both hands full.... "Lord, keep Satan away from my baby.... and bring her some peace". "Lord help my baby find a good safe permanent place to lay her head" or "Lord help my baby find her new home". "Lord keep my baby safe". Finally..... "Lord move me out of the way so you can help my baby". Now when I have a huge ask.... like if my kid is sick.... really sick.... then I have been known to "hit my knees" but 99.9% of my talking with God.... well it's like everything else.... it's all day long.
It's not "out of the question" with God. He can do everything. He can even help us rob a bank..... but He won't.... He'll only do what is right. That's why Satan is always glugging up the sauce. Satan gets in the way.... and people get so busy messing with the little objects Satan throws in the path..... they wander off the path.... or they get tied up with the little objects and forget that God can just blow those little objects out of existence.... if we ask.
Y'all know... I am annoyingly in the Word almost every day..... but sometimes I have to say "Get thee away from me Satan!". It does work.
All we have to do is Ask.... God will handle the rest. Oh and if we're on the wrong side of God.... well sometimes He uses Satan to bump us back onto the path.... see God controls Satan too.
Warning.... Warning.... we may not like the way He handles everything. But stay out of His way.
All a Child of God has to do is Ask.
Just Ask!
