Just got notice from Atlantic Broadband

Still don't know how much it will go up - but pretty much every single line item will go up 2-5 apiece. I'm guessing a 30 dollar increase overall.

I'm at my wit's end with these guys. I have to find an alternative my family will accept.

To our Atlantic Broadband Customers:

We know how important connectivity is at this time, which is why we are committed to bringing you reliable, high-quality services through the most up-to-date technology available. To do so, we are constantly investing in our services and updating our broadband infrastructure.

We’re also working every day to provide you with a dedicated customer experience by investing in customer care initiatives that make doing business with us simple and convenient, including new digital options that do not require person-to-person contact.

These costs, along with the fees cable networks and broadcasters charge us to carry their programming, which continue to rise, are some of our largest expenses. Though we absorb many of the costs, some must be passed through to our customers. As a result, we will be increasing some of our prices effective September 1, 2020. Please see the complete list of charges by visiting the link below.

We are proud of the product and financial support initiatives we were able to deploy as a commitment to help keep our customers connected during the COVID-19 crisis. We will continue to monitor the pandemic’s impact on your connectivity needs, and evolve how we do business to ensure we meet them. Our customers matter to us, and we appreciate your business.

If you have any questions or would like to opt out of receiving these types of notifications via email, please contact us at 855-761-0237.

Thank you for being a loyal Atlantic Broadband customer. We look forward to continuing to provide you with services you can depend on at the fairest possible price.

Sincerely,

What a load of -- you know. Then they try to soften the blow by telling you how great they've been over the last few years, rolling out most of the best stuff to new customers, leaving the rest of us alone.

How do you expect them to provide that forever declining service if they don't charge more?

Exactly! Service for the last month in our area has been intermittent. Neighbor's kids have had difficulty doing homework some nights.

Well some weeks back we got the "upgrade" - but of course, the salesperson on the phone DID promise stuff they could not deliver.
We had three DVRs with the whole house device (so you can watch all material on any DVR). They replaced ONE. They said at the time that the TiVo DVR can be expanded with TiVo "minis". Which they did not install - and said they wouldn't - because of COVID.

WHY? Because that would place the technician in our home for too long. Oddly enough, because of all the cable boxes - he was at our house easily an hour. So their argument is kind of dumb.

Having been spoiled with DVR now for years - I'm looking forward to WHEN they can expand it.

QUESTION : Why can't I buy my own minis and set them up myself? Do they require some kind of special setup? I really hate that we just have the one DVR.
