I just got news that my little Tasha who is only 2 has kidney disease and a heart murmur. They don't know yet if the kidney disease is causing the murmur or not. They are going to do an Eco cardiogram on her tomorrow to see what is going on for sure. I have been :bawl: my eyes out. This poor kitty has been sickly all her life. I just wish this hadn't happened to her. :bawl:

Aww I am so sorry. I lost mine in 2001 on Valentine's Day to kidney failure. She was only 6. Your cat is beautiful. No matter what people say, they are family members and it hurts just as bad, if not worse. I hope she will be ok.

She says that it's treatable with medication, I am just wondering how long she will live and how will her life be from here on out. I am also concerned because the other cats have been sensing something is wrong with her and have been picking on her terribly. I have been spraying them with water to get them to leave her alone, but what kind of life is she going to have if I have to keep fending off the other cats from her. Hopefully once she is on the meds she will get better and they won't pick on her so much. I have always been especially close to her because of her horrible start in life. She is my baby and boy does she know it! Ugh, I just hate this. I don't want any of them to be sick. :frown:

It is so easy to love them and so hard to think about losing them. Sending some positive energy your way...

I had to have a 6 year old cat put down due to this. Never showed any signs of ill health then one day peeing blood and lethargic. Took her to the vet immediately for what I was SURE was a UTI. After testing the urine and blood, advanced kidney disease. They said meds "could" prolong her life for a while but it wasn't a good prognosis and suggested I put her down. Apparently it's fairly common in cats and they don't really know what causes it. I'm sorry you have to go through such, it blows! :huggy:

I had a cat with a heart murmur and she lived to be 20 years old. Hopefully once she is on the meds for the kidneys it won't be a problem as far as longevity. All any of us can do is give them the best life we can for as long as we have them. :huggy:

Well, one thing she said was that the kidney was not that bad. So hopefully we caught it in time before it could get that bad. All I can do is pray from here on out.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. :huggy:

Aaw, that's a pretty kitty. :yay:

I hope for the best for your cat, even if I don't like the little running scratching furballs.

I just a cat to kidney failure 6 months ago. I treated her for 5 months when it was thought she would'nt have had that long.

That CRF is a terrible disease. Its treatable but not cureable. There are things you can to prolong her life and make her comfortable.

PM me if you have any questions.

Well, I pulled out my photography tent to take a picture of the present my girlfriend sent me for my birthday and while it was up Tasha climbed into the tent. So I took some shots of her in the tent. She is there still sleeping peacefully. I guess she wanted me to have some good pics of her before she left me. :bawl:
