What Harris had in mind was “tree equity,” the idea that minority communities suffer disproportionately from global warming because they generally live in urban areas that get even hotter than the rest of the country does as the internal combustion engines keep eating away at our protection from the sun’s rays, because there is a relative lack of trees compared to the rich, white suburbs. So what we need to do, you see, is plant a lot of trees in urban areas.
This is not just some UC Berkeley students getting stoned and theorizing at 3:00 a.m. about how to save the planet. Old Joe’s Build Back Better agenda actually spends $3 billion of your money and mine on “tree equity,” because as it turns out, according to the Tree Equity Score website (yes, it exists, and yes, it is not a joke), trees are “critical infrastructure that every person in every neighborhood deserves.” In fact, like so many other things these days, they’re “a basic right that we must secure.” However, trees are now distributed in a racist manner: “But a map of tree cover in America’s cities is too often a map of income and race. That’s because trees often are sparse in low-income neighborhoods and some neighborhoods of color. Ensuring equitable tree cover across every neighborhood can help address social inequities so that all people can thrive.”
Planting trees in poor neighborhoods sounds like a fine idea, but the class warfare rhetoric with which it is being pitched is another thing altogether. What might be the next step, if “tree equity” still hasn’t been adequately secured even as all manner of new trees are growing in Brooklyn, in the Bronx, and along Philadelphia’s notorious drug zone, Kensington Avenue? Back in the early days of the Soviet Union, the Communists forcibly turned the wealthy out of their homes, so that they could be divided up into apartments for The People.

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel revealed Tuesday what he thought was at least part of the driving forces behind Vice President Kamala Harris' historically poor approval rating: racism and sexism.
During his opening monologue, Kimmel joked about the reasons Harris' approval rating would be so low, claiming it made no sense because "she basically has nothing to do," but ultimately blamed "sexism and racism" amid his comedic attempts.

But the disagreements emerge when it’s time to assign blame for that reality. Harris’ staffers, in typical fashion, blame Biden for not defending her forcefully enough instead of the fact that she’s an awful politician and incredibly inauthentic. Meanwhile, Biden’s staffers note that Harris is unfocused and shows no competency to handle the problems she’s been given to tackle.
Can we just agree that both sides are right?
To be sure, the White House, in an effort to protect a senile, incapable Joe Biden, has sandbagged Harris at times. Dumping the border crisis and the left’s “voting rights” fight in her lap was a way to insulate Biden from two issues that have become toxic. The administration won’t allow the necessary changes to fix the former, and the latter simply will simply never pass the Senate. Thus, Harris has two major failures hung around her neck that she never really had a shot at rectifying.
Still, Harris does nothing to help herself. She’s naked ambitious and deeply uncharismatic, with a penchant for laughing at awkward times and repeating ridiculous, far-left platitudes when people just want straight answers.

They deserve each other. The Dem voters - and the party - are having buyer's remorse over the flatulent. senile person they've invested in - and having made the mistake of placing a token they have no faith in, in the veep position.
They didn't want her - she was out of the primary before a single vote was cast. She was brought on board because she was black, and a woman. Biden largely said as much. NOT because she'd make a good President should he fail to complete the term. It was to enhance his electoral chances.
Now they're in an untenable situation where - they don't want Joe there - they sure as hell don't want Kamala to take his place - and keeping both means a lost House and very likely a lost Senate as well. And the White House in 2024 unless SOMETHING happens to help them out.
It's lose-lose-lose and sadly, for the rest of us too. I don't see my personal fortunes or situation getting any better. Heck, I may have to delay retiring even more years, because my money won't be worth shite.
