White House Dismisses Twitter Censoring Stories on Behalf of Joe Biden as ‘Old News’
“That is full of old news, if you think about it,” White House press secretary Karine Jean Pierre said during the daily briefing, when asked for the White House’s reaction to the new information unveiled by Twitter’s new CEO Elon Musk.
Musk released internal discussions about Twitter executives to journalist Matt Taibbi, who shared the information on the social media platform.
Documents revealed internal communications about censoring the New York Post‘s news story right before the 2020 election about the information retrieved from Biden’s son Hunter’s abandoned laptop. The information also revealed that Twitter censored other posts on social media on behalf of the Democrat National Committee and the Biden campaign.
“Decisions were made to censor reporting leading up to the election,” Heinrich said. “My question was, is it the White House view that these decisions were made appropriately in light of what has come out?”
“Which decisions by whom?” Jean-Pierre asked.
“By Twitter,” Heinrich responded.
“So look, we see this as a, an interesting or a coincidence, if I may, that, that he would so haphazardly, Twitter was so haphazardly pushed this distraction,” Jean-Pierre claimed. “That is a, that is full of old news, if you think about it.”
“And at the same time, Twitter is facing very real and very serious questions about the rising volume of anger, hate and anti-semitism on their platform,” she claimed, “and how they’re letting it happen and, you know, the President said last week, more leaders need to speak out and reject this.”
“And it’s very alarming and very dangerous,” Jean-Pierre claimed, later adding, “It’s not healthy, it won’t do anything to help a single American improve their lives.”

Jean-Pierre claimed that it was not “hard” for her to give him a question, to which he responded that “it’s been months” since she had supposedly answered one of his questions.
The two went back and forth for several moments before Jean-Pierre packed up her binder and stormed out of the room. She had claimed that she would give a question to a colleague of Ateba, but he remained persistent.
“Okay. Thanks, everybody. I’ll see you tomorrow,” she said as she left the room.
Ateba later told the Daily Caller that Jean-Pierre should be “ashamed” of herself for the interaction.
“Karine Jean-Pierre should be ashamed of herself,” he said. “How bad can discrimination get? Even when President Biden is hosting 50 African leaders, she cannot give a question to the African reporter in the room. Shameful.”
