That's got to be a guy thing. I was reading The Great Train Robbery by Crichton and Larry wanted to read it too and lost my place. I fussed at him and told him he could read it, just keep my page marker. He said forget it. So I'm finished with the book and offered it to him, and now he doesn't want to read it. He only wanted to read it when it would cause me some inconvenience.
So there you go with guys - they want what they can't have. Then, when they get it, they don't want it anymore. Can I get an Amen, ladies?

Hmmm... that sounds like a typical female attempt to project her attitudes and behaviors on the resident male. I think a more likely scenario was that you kept talking about the book as you read it and now you've destroyed his interest in it. Yes... that would be more along the lines of typical female behavior.
I must not be very good at it or he'd clean the bathroom and put his dishes in the dishwasher.
