That's bs, the military commanders should be deciding how many troops they need, not some lush.

Last I heard, Bush was pushing for a troop surge and the Democrats were saying if he did, they would cut funding to prevent it.

I thought that most of the articles in the press say that he is against the troop surge, and that in order for the president to introduce such a move would require congressional approval? At least thats how I read it?

It's BS because the Republicans are setting it up that no matter what, they can pin it on the Democrats.

If they do the troop surge - we're guaranteed to be in there for long enough that a Democrat will have to fix it, and if the Dems refuse the surge, they'll blame them for everything since Clinton's blow job, much like they already do.

I believe the bill in question does not push for a troop surge,but would require Congressional approval before the President could authorise one.

Kennedy is certainly not for a troop surge.

As a matter of fact I am not sure I am either.

What good are more troops that stay in the Green zone?

Today I read where upwards of 30 people were driven into Baghdad and hanged from the lamp posts as revenge for Saddams death. Now the story stated that many people stood by and watched this happen and were in fact in agreement with it.
If these people have no interest in stopping the killing themselves why should we be interested. We hunt down Sunni;s the Sunnis send out death squads. We hunt down Shiites, the Shiites send out death squads. Maybe we should just get out of the way and let these animals kill each other,till they want peace.
