What a race! Street Sense comes from 19th to win by a mile! I watched the race from Salsa's.

Otter, how about a Preakness prediction? I'm gonna roll $$ with your knowledge.... :cheers:

"Tis summer, the darkies are gay"
No one protests that lyric-and it hasn't been changed since 1893 when it was written. :whistle:

My Old Kentucky Home
Words and Music by: Stephen C. Foster

The sun shines bright in the old Kentucky home
'Tis summer, the people are gay;
The corn top's ripe and the meadow's in the bloom,
While the birds make music all the day;
The young folks roll on the little cabin floor,
All merry, all happy, and bright,
By'n by hard times comes a-knocking at the door,
Then my old Kentucky home, good night!

Chorus

Weep no more, my lady,
Oh weep no more today!
We will sing one song for the old Kentucky home,
For the old Kentucky home far away.

They hunt no more for the 'possum and the coon,
On meadow, the hill and the shore,
They sing no more by the glimmer of the moon,
On the bench by that old cabin door;
The day goes by like a shadow o'er the heart,
With sorrow where all was delight;
The time has come when the people have to part,
Then my old Kentucky home, good night!

Chorus

The head must bow and the back will have to bend,
Wherever the people may go;
A few more days and the trouble all will end
In the field where sugar-canes may grow;
A few more days for to tote the weary load,
No matter, 'twill never be light,
A few more days till we totter on the road,
Then my old Kentucky home, good night!

Chorus

From Kentucky Revised Statutes Annotated, Chapter 2.100: "LRC Note: The modern version of 'My Old Kentucky Home' was adopted during the 1986 Regular Session of the General Assembly by the House of Representatives in House Resolution 159 and the Senate in Senate Resolution 114.

Preakness

Think its gonna be Curlin in a romp. Originally I was leaning to Hard Spun, but I don't like his post position. Pimlico is a tight track, most races are won from the 4 post in, regardless of distance.

Scared me in the Derby that Beyer(of the WP) picked Street Sense, cuz his record isn't all that great in picking the Derby(but probably better than most). Beyer is picking Hard Spun and it wouldn't surprise me if he won. The horse in the 3 post, Quay something, has a chance too. Think Street Sense is gonna finish back in the pack.

Are they still calling for a muddy track? I heard this morning odds were shifting a little because of the potential for rain. Something to consider when placing bets in advance. :yay:
