CSM Observes Code Green Fridays. Fridays through Aug. 9, College of Southern Maryland (CSM), all campuses. In an effort to decrease energy costs during the summer months, CSM will be running a Code Green initiative each Friday through Aug. 9. During Code Green days, most CSM buildings and services will close at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays and remain closed throughout the weekend. Matthew Henson, a polar explorer, craftsman, author, and said to be the first African-American to reach the North Pole. Keith Henley, a historic interpreter and actor, will portray the Maryland native. Henley performs as Henry Box Brown, George Washington Carver, Langston Hughes, Sergeant Henry Johnson, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the American Historical Theatre in Philadelphia and at Chautauquas in Colorado, Delaware, South Carolina, and Arkansas.
