Mine have a standard check list they need to get through before I arrive home from work. Each has their own specific household chores they are responsible for, each must spend an hour in the home gym, each must spend an hour working in their "summer bridges" workbook. They can spend the rest of the time doing pretty much what they please.

It's been working out quite nicely...

Time to introduce Mister Trash Can to the picture. Tell them if they can't knock it off and each clean their own room without trashing the others... items will start going in the trash can. Then stick to it... be sure to throw something away, even if it's valuable... and don't let it come back out of the trash... it will get their attention quick. 2nd step will be to head into a room like a mad woman and start filling Mister Trash Can yourself... and you have to follow thru that what goes in the can stays in the can... that really gets their attention...:coffee:

Give them lots and lots of chores. Tell them every time they fight or bicker they get more.

GMTA.

My kids have too much to do around here to complain about being bored and fighting and bickering.

And if they dare complain...I just tell them that if they're bored there's plenty of work to do around here. Shuts them right up. :wench:
