I'm so very happy that when I was dating, we didn't have to worry about all the various combinations that they have now. Girls were attracted to guys, guys were attracted to girls, the others were not in your face 24/7 attempting to make you believe their attractions were normal.

When in high school, I knew of only 1 gay person(a black guy), amazingly he was open about it and hung with the group I ran with. We didn't care about it, as we were open about our preferences. We respected him, and him us. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s that one of my sisters came out of the closet. She was the first women I knew that was admittedly gay, but we had always suspected it. My sister had a get-together at our parents house for her friends a couple years after that and I ran across 2 girls I dated back in high school..and wondered if I did that to them..lol.. magic 8-ball said probable.

I remember exactly one gay guy in high school. He was the older brother of one of my best friends. He never advertised or made "passes" at any of our group. He also always had a friendly demeanor and a full baggie that he was willing to share.

I knew one as well. A well liked and amicable fella. Didn't carry himself as a fairy either, was normal looking and acting. The difference today? He didn't parade himself to be one. Didn't fly a rainbow flag or any of that other, "look at me I'm gay" stuff.
