The Kindle DX never quite took off the way Amazon was intending. While a 10-inch e-reader certainly sounded good in theory -- especially for the broadsheet addicts out there -- it was too unwieldy and expensive for mass market appeal

The Kindle DX never quite took off the way Amazon was intending. While a 10-inch e-reader certainly sounded good in theory -- especially for the broadsheet addicts out there -- it was too unwieldy and expensive for mass market appeal

It is too expensive for what it does. I love my ereader over a tablet for just reading but I think they were between $350-400. At least a tablet does other stuff for the money you spend.

You can get a new Kindle Fire for less that price. The DX was just an ereader, nothing else. As nice as the large screen looked it was to me a waste on money since you can get the newest Paperwhite (which I finally got last night and LOVE thus far) for just over $100 and the the basic Kindle is $70 now.
