MINNEAPOLIS, Jun 02, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Target(R) Corporation today continued its commitment to making Kindle, Amazon's bestselling product, available to its guests with a June 6 nationwide roll-out. Target is the first brick-and-mortar retailer to carry the reading device.

I suspect Amazon will want Target selling them at retail, except for the occasional promotional sale. According to the article, retail is currently $259.

They may, you'll just have to keep your eyes open. They may also do some of those offers where they sell it at retail, but give you something like a $20 or $50 Target gift card with your purchase.

Amazon announced yesterday that it is cutting the price of the Kindle again - to $189. The price of Barnes and Noble's Nook was also cut - to $199. It's been obvious for months, since Apple announced the iPad, that Amazon would have to start all-but-giving the Kindle away if it wanted to continue market penetration and preserve a strong revenue stream for the Kindle store going forward. I suspect we'll see at least one more round of price cuts before it finds a price point at which it might survive.

I'd also note that Apple has sold 3 million iPads in less than 3 months.
