Kindle Question

Yesterday I finished my latest book on my kindle. At the end of the the book, when it asked to rate the book or tweet I finished it, I did not do anything. I have not turned on the wifi, but this morning I got an email from amazon saying that if I enjoyed the book that I just finished, they had other recomendations for me. Coincidence or did the kindle send to info to amazon without me knowing?

I didnt think it was capable if the wifi was off, I have to turn on wifi for any updates to the software.

They got the info when you dowloaded the book. The timing of the actual recommendation, however, was probably a coincidence. I get recommendations from Amazon sometimes weeks after I finish a book on my Kindle.

Yep...that us usually how it works for me. I also download some free books and I get requests to rate them and half I have not read.

I get them too, but I don't have Kindle - just the Kindle app on my iPad, so I wasn't sure if it worked the same way.

I've had my Kindle for over two years and never had any software updates.

I always use the Whispernet cellular function for downloads. I wonder if that makes a difference? Did you get notified when those updates loaded?

I hook up to my home wifi and then the download shows on the kindle screen after a few minutes.
