Has anyone seen King Kong 2005, yet?

I have two questions:

1) Is it worth seeing? And more importantly:
2) Do they say: "Was Beauty killed the beast?" in this version?

If you've seen the original.. and the other 4 or 5 remakes.. do you think they have done anything different??

Crap load of money spent on an unoriginal idea.. like to have been in THAT boardroom just so when they said "Boss, boss, I have this GREAT idea" I could have said, "Shut the F up and sit down.. "

"but I filmed Lord of the Rings" so there! :neener:

:fixed: :killingme

They have such high aspiration for the film, but I for one will not be adding to their coffers.

Drug it out for 3 hours?

Plus some douchebags are saying it's racist... I'll wait for the dvd and then skip it...

I think it is horrible that they captured that giant ape and those dinosaurs just to exploit them in a movie. PETA and the SPCA should have stopped Jackson and his cronies. :burning:

I was just trying to remember a remake that was as good as the original, but I can't come up with any.

The ones based on TV shows are only good if they are a spoof, and then it's a watch it once deal.

King Kong 2005

If you had as much money as Peter Jackson you'd remake any movie you wanted to as well. He could remake Gigli and nerds would go see it.The original was racist.I have not seen anything racist about this one.

1. That depends on your perspective. I never wanted to see King Kong, so I never saw the original. Dustin and I compromised and we got to see my chick flick (The Family Stone), and his ghey movie (King Kong). It was a thirty minute movie stretched out over three hours. Pretty tedious in my opinion. The beginning was boring, there was a lot of action in the middle, and the end was boring.
2. Yes, Jack Black (of all people) says "Was Beauty killed the Beast".

My opinion is that I'd rather have watched The Family Stone two more times instead of King Kong, but at least now I can say I've seen it. And FYI, those natives are skeery. :jet:

I don't know, I think there are several remakes that were better than the originals. For instance "Scar Face" with Al Pacino beats the pants off of the original in my opinion. Then there are other movies that should never be redone, as they are as good as they are ever going to get.

I hope it said it with a raised eyebrow and a hairy-eyed stare.

I just heard that Peter Jackson is working on a movie version of Halo.

The best Remake ever, had the car thief going after Eleanor, the Shelby Mustang... Gone in 60 Seconds? The original was some artsy fartsy movie that was impossible to watch.

1) It's .....ok. Maybe wait till DVD. It's just not that interesting. AND *TOO* LONG....
2) Of course. Last line in the movie, just like the original. "It wasn't the airplanes...'twas beauty killed the beast".
