She's huge Scientologist. But she's also a trainwreck whackadoodle - so it fits.
She's had an addiction problem with alcohol and food, I think. Definitely food.
Anyhoo, Scientology has a ton of front groups and front agencies which are cleverly (unless you know how to figure out who really "owns" them) disguised so that they go undetected as being part of that whole group.
She could have been affiliated with any of them - and gotten sucked in.
