:yahoo: Good for you. I hope you do find one and that your kids are just as excited to get one as mine are.

Some people are over reacting, perhaps, just maybe, they don't have children or it's just the fact that they don't have responsible ones..that they are being biatches.
In any case I'm sure with 5 children and 2 jobs, you sound like you really want to make this happen for your kids.

Hey cuttingitrite2...
Some folks on here believe that there are only an elite few who are good enough to own an animal, and will go into a self-righteous tirade about just how unworthy you are. I guess you figured that out though...

In my opinion, the animal shelter is the best place to get a kitten. Their kittens usually come to you already fixed, wormed, and with first shots, sometimes even microchipped. These things will cost you much more to have done at a vet. The adoption fee is very worth it, if for that reason alone. Plus if you adopt from the animal shelter, you are saving a little life!

Rescue groups are great too, but if you go with a rescue group, be warned that many will want to come and "inspect" our home... and some may also find you "unworthy".

Good luck finding your kitty! Merry Christmas!

I have a few people who have PM'd and they have one, so Im gonna try. Thanks. To you guys that have issues with yourself, and have nothing else better to do with your time. Maybe you should get a life. Yes, I have 5 kids, 2 jobs and GREAT WELL MANNERED KIDS, that I have plenty of time for. I work while my children are in school and so does my Husband. None of that pertains to just my children getting a damn cat for Christmas. I hope that all of you get what you wanted for Christmas, or maybe thats your problem. Have a Great HOLIDAY.... And stay in the spirit that you are in and show your family that same respect. GROW UP.......

Stop explaining yourself. You don't owe anyone on here one.

Sockgirl, I was not complaining about the $50.00 for the cat. I was just saying that when you go to a shelter, you do not get the cat right away. And hello its christmas, it will take longer. SANTA COMES TONIGHT.... Im not sure if he comes to your house but my kids cant wait until he gets there..

Piss poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part.

IOW: you should of planned ahead and started looking for a kitten a couple of weeks ago and made plans to pick it up tonight.

You are a fool to bring into your home a stray kitty that has not been to the vet for a check up, but you want a free cat, not one you have to pay for.

But then again, some bimbo w/5 kids who should have been spayed ages ago would not care what kid of kitten she brings in...just as long as you "deliver" the goods.....

I feel sory for the kitten.....and FYI: there is no such thing as a free lunch or a free kitten.
You are gonna pay sooner or later.....

Not to sound mean or anything, but i hope your "desperately needed kitten" doesn't end up back in the shelter after the novelty wears off and nobody is picking up the kitten crap or feeding it or making sure it doesn't tear up the furniture. I love animals, but there is responsiblity that comes with it. I think that may be why alot of shelters don't adopt out unil after the holidays. Hope your Christmas is Merry.

I think this is a very valid concern.... I have 5 animals (4 came from rescue situations/organizations), 3 cats, 2 dogs. My day yesterday started with stepping in crap, cleaning that up and coming downstairs to find that one of my cats missed the litter box and crapped between the two side by side boxes. Then, last night, we stepped out of the house for dinner and my little pup got in the trash and had cheese and salami (tossed in the trash for being no good). I got home, trash scattered (90% of the time I put the can up but wasn't aware this was in the can so I didn't think of it). Well, she ate too much. I had company after dinner and my puppy came over and vomited at one of my guest feet. The cats kept jumping on the table then a fight between 2 of them broke out and the dogs got involved. The four of them ran through the house, knocking things over, including the *gasp* Christmas tree....

:jameo: I have one cat that will eat a thawing ham/turkey/meat off the stove, she don't care! Another that snatches bacon right out of the skillet and sometimes brings you live rodents from the outside, like bunnies. Another that thinks whatever you are drinking, she can have a sip; my dog feels she has that entitlement as well.

Last night, whining, wanting in/out, running around the house at 2 a.m. playing and then waking up with 1 or 2 staring down at you all suspicious.... Animals are work and there are some days I feel like I'm living with them, instead of the other way around. And then there are the over $3,000 in vet bills I have had since June. They take commitment and a whole lot of patience that is for sure. I'd offer you one of mine but I'd miss 'em too much!

Hope you find your special kitty, if not, a certificate sounds like a great idea....

Merry Christmas....

Thank you , first of all I am not a "BIMBO' because I have 5 children. I take damn good care of my children along with my husband. I NEVER said I did not want to pay for the kitten, its just hard to get a cat the same day from the shelter. You guys need to shut up and stop getting on me because I want a cat for my kids. I know how to take care of things, MY CHILDREN, are well feed ,bathed and never in need of things. The same as if I would do for the cat. I know it is Christmas, and Im not out BUYING MY KIDS THE Wii and other exspensive gifts. I want something that my kids can look forward to when they get home from school instead of Video Games.Think back when you were little, did you ever tell Santa what you wanted?? Well so did my daughter, and I DONT CARE what the cost i just wanted to see if anyone had one that needed a home. So as far as I am concered I hope Santa doesnt bring anything that you want for Christmas.

kitten today

Hello,
I have kittens that are fully vetted. They are spayed or neutered,
distemper shots, rabies shot, dewormed and combo tested for
aids and feline leukemia. The fee is $125. I am a volunteer with
Feral Cat Rescue. If you adopt two kittens, the fee would be $200 which
I recommend as kittens give each other comfort and company in a new
home. My number is 301-481-0171. Please try my home first which
is 301-884-8777. I can forward you an application when you let me know
your email address. You can also go to Untitled Page and
fill out an application and email it to moonandhunt@hotmail.com
Do you have pets now? Some of our kittens are not on the website and
I can email pictures.
Thanks, Diane

Ok....so your not a bimbo..just a baby machine.
Just cant plan ahead ..anyone else surprised it is Christmas?
You pop out 5 kids..and you knew they were coming...and you got stuff ahead of time...same thing for a pet..you plan ahead!

Sounds like you dont want a kitten..just want to surprise you pack of kids.

Wanna know why rescues dont adopt out for that Christmas morning surprise?
Too tramatic for the kitten/puppy..imagine a pack of hyped up kids decending on a poor kitten Christmas day...and like most toys..are forgotten and neglected as soon as the newness wears off.

Some parent you are to not care about the kitten.

Go do what others advised..get all the kitten stuff and let the kids pick out a pet they want.

Hahahah..electric litter pan....talk about lazy!!!
