Kitty Hawk?

Thinking of going to OBX for Labor Day; found a nice b&b in Kitty Hawk. I used to live in Kill Devil Hills but don't remember much about Kitty Hawk. Anyone know what the feel of the area is like? Would we feel like we were out of the happening area, or is there enough to do and close enough that we won't feel secluded? We are not party people but like to have fun and do things...

Kitty Hawk is right next to Kill Devil Hills.

it is really nice. we went to nags head in june and loved it. that whole area is pretty calm. there are nice places to eat, do a little shopping, play some mini-golf. i loved the beaches because they arent crowded. make sure you go to jockeys ridge to see the sunset. its gorgeous.

It's all the same man. Kill Devil Hills is like 15 minutes south of Kitty Hawk.

We were just there in July and loved it. We stayed at a cottage that was owned by Cypress Moon Inn.

Kitty Hawk is right next to Kill Devil Hills.

I stayed at a rental in Kill Devil Hills last month for a week and absolutely LOVED it. Very quiet area and we were right on the ocean. Anything you want to do is an easy drive from there.

No we didn't get to eat out too much since there were so many of us...and getting a big group together is such a hassel! Is Elizabeth's the one in the Scarbough (sp?) Lane shopping area?

We go every year so I love to hear about great places to see/visit.

Yes, in Scarborough Faire Shopping Village. It is most excellent. I have dined there several times. http://www.elizabethscafe.com/ I highly recommend it.

We stayed just North of there last year and LOVED it. off season, few kids. Had the beach to ourselves. Walk out of the house and over one dune and we were on the beach. Hot Tub.. Pool.. Home Theater..

close enough to Kitty Hawk to spend the day, but far enough away not to suffer from the crowds..

had a day long fishing charter from about 45 minutes South..

BG sent me the link....AWESOME!!! Right on the beach is the only way to go in OBX. I have not yet stayed in Salvo but looked at it a couple years ago. Haven't been down in two years....won't miss the trek down next vacation!!!
