No your right 2 wrongs dont make a right. Im just saying that Dave Chappelle uses it, and he's a comedian. Why is it ok for him and not anyone esle who isnt black. Except for Carlos Mencia
I don't like any comedian that has based thier comedy on the obvious...'I'm black...you are white...insert stereotypically phrase here. Or those that are 'I'm a woman..or I'm fat' You get the point. I don't think any of that is funny.

Does it make you angry when a black comedian calls white people names? Or Carlos Mencia ...his entire fame is based on racial slurs and observations. Not my cup of tea. So I don't watch it.
Doesn't bother me. One of the things that I like about Mencia is that he makes fun of everyone. Screw being PC! :elaine:

I could careless......I'm from Italian decent......I laugh at ALL of the WOP jokes and tell them often.

If you don't like who you are or where you are from, you have serious issues. :yay:

Thats what I'm saying...I'm from Ireland...there is plenty to go with there right? I'm not ashamed of it and when comedians make their jokes...it isn't a big deal to me but I don't like that style of comedy personally.

Nope it doesnt. And you have said exactly why it doesnt bother me. I easily have the ability to change the TV channel or walk out of the club. If I was FORCED to sit down and listen to it then I would have a problem with it. If somebody doesnt find the humor in that comedy or music, nobody is forcing them to sit their and take it. They can go and turn on whatever they want to watch or do whatever they want.

Carlos Mencia is hilarious. Chris Rock is too. Chapelle, all of them. They make millions saying racist things. The only difference between what they say and what Richards said was Richards was directing it at people directly in front of him. He didn't even say anything racist besides the n word. He didnt reference slavery, he didnt reference lynching, he didnt reference ANYTHING racist except the n word. And from the immature way in which I am sure they were acting, I highly suspect the two men frequently used the word to begin with. So, what did Richards do wrong? He had the balls to stand up to a group of hecklers instead of pressing the "Security guard button" to have them brought out onto the street where they rightfully belonged.

Substitute the n word with "fools" and I dont see anything wrong with his outburst.

I'm sorry, count how many times a black comedian uses the term in their act.. Is it supposed to be any less offensive if a Black person says it, because I have to tell you it's an offensive word to me no matter who says it..

So if "Kramer" needs to apologize, line up all the other comedians that have used it, black, white, Hispanic.. make them apologize too.

I actually don't have a problem with the word being used. It's about how its used. If a white male approaches me and says you N!gger with the er emphasized then we have a problem. Actually if anyone approaches me that way I have a problem. If you live the Hip-Hop culture its almost impossible not to use it. I'm sure many of you will disagree. I'm not saying its right but thats just how I feel.

Agreed!

Fools isn't a racist word. It doesn't spark feelings like the N word does.

I don't see what the big deal is. The whole situation was probably set up to generate press for Kramer.

If it is a racist word, why aren't people in the "Hip-Hop culture" racists for using it? The word is either racist or it isn't. If the word is racist, than anyone who says it is racist.

Thats the point...the only "wrong" thing he did was say the N word. Besides that, he was just blowing up at the "fools" that were heckling him. He was pissed, most likely rightfully so. But if I were as pissed as him I dont think I would have screamed out "You're of african descent! You're of African descent!"

Hell, who knows, Richards may stun us all and be in the process of releasing a Hip-hop album with lyrics by the Ying yang twins directed by puffy (or was it p. diddy, or puff daddy) with Xzibit as a back-up singer! Then would it be ok for what he did?

Double standards are whack...yo

In hip hop they don't use that word. They say *****, Kramer said Niger. One word is racist the other is not.

You might want to rethink what you consider "culture"

Like pingr said, there are 2 ways the word is used, you know when it is in a racist way. Then he said it to offend someone not in general convo.

no...they say ----ga because it helps with the rhyme scheme and they are lazy. Half the rap artist can't even say a complete sentence without screwing up one word or another.

And for those of you leaving "your a racist and a biggot" as negative feedback for me....I am neither a racist nor a biggot. maybe you should learn to spell bigot before you try to sound all cool.

Well it is an ignorant word full of hate so using it anywhere by anyone is bad judgement.
