...in Nov. 15 Newsweek there are plenty of stories about the campaign. One of them is about debate prep for Edwards. Kerry/Ewdards guru Bob Shrum, in a practice session said to Edwards "He (Cheney) is going to come in with a machine gun..." to emphasize that the likely Bush/Cheney plan was for Cheney to come on strong and mean.
Johns 6 year old girl was there and her eyes grew wide in fear. Shrum caught himself and said 'that's a metaphor sweetie.." to which she replied, as a 6 year old might, 'what's a metaphor?'...
Shrum started to explain when Elizabeth stepped in and firmly said 'there's not going to be a machine gun in the debate."
I thought that was hilarious and endearing. I've done the same thing a million times with our kids, build them a clock, and Vrai will just end it like that, tell them what time it is.
