Kyocera Wireless is absolutely committed to the safety of its customers. It has come to Kyocera's attention that a portion of batteries shipped to our carrier customers with some Kyocera phones may be counterfeit. Kyocera has screened our customers' distribution channels and removed all affected batteries. Kyocera is also working with the FBI and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to pursue those involved in the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit batteries.
Just called to replace my battery and the dude said it should take about 3-5 days for the new one to come in. And the phone is safe to use, but if the back starts to get hot, just turn it off and let it cool down, that sounds reassuring
