Landfill Nazis

I took a box spring to the landfill this am and the guy there just about didn't let me dump it. He said they've been making people separate the metal and wood before they let them dump it. I appreciate that they are trying to be diligent about the recycling, but I think that's carrying it a bit too far. Next you'll have to dissassemble chairs, sofas etc. Just so's ya know.

It wasn't a matter of driving to another pile. I would have had to go home and remove the springs from the wood frame. The guy relented though and told me to throw it on the metal pile.

As far as them "always" doing it I don't know. That is the first box spring mattress I threw away since they have had seperate plies for metal, yard waste and the dumpsters.

I thought about puttin' it in the 66 chevy truck bed I have out back. Then someday maybe I'd find a mattress for it and me'n the wifey could have a romantic outside love nest. Once I chased the racoons out from under it of course.
