Landman and streaming services

Amazon is making more and more pay shows that aren't free with Prime, so I bought a Roku because my 7 year old Samsung smart TV is no longer supported by Netflix or any of the other services. "Sorry, you'll have to buy a new TV...." šŸ–•

I've been wanting to watch Landman because it looks interesting, even though it's a Taylor Sheridan thing and he's a deviant weirdo who apparently doesn't know any real humans. I'm halfway through the first season and enjoying it, but perhaps not enough to extend my 7-day Paramount+ trial. Although there are a zillion other shows on that service.....so.....

Anyway, two things:

First, what streaming service do you like best? Netflix, Paramount+, or something else? I can't see getting both even though they're like $120/year because there's only so much ass in front of the tube I want to do

Second thing:

WTH with these bizarre female characters in Sheridan world? First freaking psychopath Beth Dutton, now Angela Norris. What guy would put up with that sht? Is it just me? Do men really find hair trigger bully females attractive??? I understand it's over the top for entertainment purposes, but yikes....

I’ve got Amazon, and Paramount pay for.

Verizon gives me Disney and Netflix as part of my phone service so I don’t have to pay for those.

For Paramount… Landman is damn good show, yeah the ex-wife is over the top,bat crap crazy but it works great with Billy Bob Thornton. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

I originally signed up for it because of the Star Trek stuff and I wanted to watch Yellowstone. Just still haven’t gotten around to starting Yellowstone.

Mayor of Kingstown is supposed to be pretty good. And they have Dexter new series.

I’ll watch some old shows on Amazon that I liked, re-watching resident alien on Netflix…

One scene I enjoyed most was the dingbat lawyer freezing up with the snake "You didn't have to kill it..."

"well I didn't have to kill it till you stood there and dared the goddamn thing to bite you"

"Now are you gonna walk back to the truck or wait on a goddamn mountain lion?"

We have Prime and Cricket, so a few things are free with ads. The girl watches loads of shows and series. We pay for ad free HBO plus and Paramount I believe. I just started watching a few series like Boardwalk, Deadwood and now I'm a two seasons into True Detective.
Next is either Land Man I believe. I'm like 10 years behind with many series, so I have loads that I haven't seen.
I just bought her a new 65" Vizio, and its pretty user friendly to use. TV's today are cheap that one was $450.00 out the door at Sams.

I love it when Billy has a part where he gets to be a reactionary person. He does it well. I've just seen bits and pieces of Land man. I will probably start it this week. I was going to head back to Indiana yesterday and was looking at the snow there. I said to myself, self its not snowing in Jackson, MS and since your now retarded, how about you just spend another week or so in Jackson. I said self, thats what we are gonna do.

I was hoping she'd be a character I could root for, but then I saw the episode where she threatens Connor so now I hate her again.

I'd like it better if they removed all the women. Taylor Sheridan can't write women, they're always some 14yo boy fantasy written for other arrested development types. And the way the male characters respond to these insane bimbos makes me not like them either because I feel like TV shows should at least have a nodding acquaintance with reality. There is no woman hot enough that a real man would put up with the bullshit cringe Angela gets away with.

I want to root for Demi's character but I'm sure TS will screw her up too.

I like the storylines that don't involve Angela and Ainsley. Sheridan takes a great deal of creative license, but that's okay - it's entertainment, not a documentary.

I do not do ANY Streaming Services .... I download all my entertainment - I was paying for Netfliks before Cuties .. I dumped NF after that

However ....

Mum still watches Netfliks so she picked up the sub. now that I dropped it ... my 20 yr old daughter watches a bunch of stuff on NF as well
My darling wife still wants to watch ' her soap ' so there is a Sub for that

Paramount + comes with Walmart so we have that available and I have Amazon Prime so I get those shows as well, but that is NOT the reason I have Prime

Side Note: I did the same thing, put a $ 20 Roku on the old Samsung TV as well NO Alexa Fire Stick TYVM

I’ve been running Roku since 2015.

My principal television is a 46ā€ Samsung purchased in 2009.

The 86 inch in the living room is a new addition and quite frankly I don’t really like the built-in software for services. It’s not as intuitive to configure as Roku.

Not gonna lie, I'm loving the Roku. As you said, it's a lot better software than the crap that came with my TV.

Paramount + comes with Walmart? Is that like Amazon Prime for deliveries, and such? (too lazy to do my own research right now! :D )

You do realize that even by downloading, you are still streaming to your computer for any given show to be seen later, right? Paramount+ is a streaming service. ROKU is a streaming service, as well as Amazon Prime. Unless you are saying that you don't subscribe, pay money, to/for any streaming services?
